Gruesome Detail Discovered in Red Dead Redemption 2: Jaw Removal Revealed in Photo Mode
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest open-world games ever created, leaving players with plenty of secrets to uncover and new details to marvel at even five years after its release. The game recently passed the 50 million sales mark, making it one of the most successful video game titles ever made. For a lucky few, the experience was recently taken to a whole new level when one gamer noticed a gruesome detail hidden in the game's combat.
The Redditor deutschesgesetzbuch_ discovered that when an enemy is shot in the head with the most powerful weapons, such as the sawed-off shotgun, the jaw of the character flies away. This gruesome detail is only visible when using Photo Mode, as the action of the game is too fast to spot it under normal circumstances. The dismemberment system in Red Dead Redemption 2 is incredibly powerful, as a well-placed shot with certain weapons can even decapitate NPCs.
Reactions to the newly-discovered detail have been varied, with many gamers hoping to see something similar in Rockstar's upcoming GTA 6. It would be a surprising move, as recent GTA titles have yet to feature this level of gore. The irony that GTA is often considered the most violent and controversial game series, while the violence in the game is considered tame compared to some other titles, including Rockstar's own Red Dead Redemption 2, was a popular discussion amongst gamers.
Despite the game's age, Rockstar continues to release bug fixes and updates for Red Dead Redemption 2, as the studio's focus remains on GTA 6. As of yet, there is no confirmed release date for Red Dead Redemption 3, and some gamers waiting on a sequel could be in for a long wait. The release of GTA 6 will bring with it news of a potential Red Dead Redemption 3, and the wait won't be too long for those looking forward to a new installment in the series.
